Music for a good cause

It’s a great feeling to do something good for someone else. I just returned from Louisiana where tens of thousands of homes in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and the surrounding areas are inundated with floodwaters. It will be a long recovery for that region and organizations like the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, which flooded along with so many other places, could use your help. But there are also many opportunities to help close to home here at The Preserve at Rock Springs luxury apartments.

The Sweetwater County Events Complex will be rockin’ and stompin’ next Friday night for the 5th annual Boys & Girls Club benefit concert. Country superstar Sawyer Brown will be entertaining the crowd and proceeds will benefit this great organization for local kids. The Boys & Girls Club of Sweetwater County serves nearly 300 children and teens in the area, providing after-school and summer activities and education. The clubs give kids a safe place to go in the afternoons where they receive mentoring and support from trained staff and volunteers.

General admission tickets to see Sawyer Brown are $40 pre-event and $45 at the door. Tickets are available at both the Rock Springs and Green River Chamber of Commerce, as well as at the Boys & Girls Club. Call 307-382-2639 for details.

There’s just something about giving of your money or, better yet, your time to someone in need. Whether it’s gutting a flooded home in Louisiana or rocking out to great music in Wyoming, every bit of good you give makes a difference in someone’s life. Make the world around The Preserve at Rock Springs luxury apartments a little happier and maybe the rest of the world will follow suit.
